NAME: Kaelas Lannis

BACKGROUND:
Pre-ARR:

Born to a Hyuran couple manning a tavern.

Father was a retired Ul'dahn gladiator, while mother is just a normal housewife with a talent for herb picking.

Had no interest in inheriting the business, but admires his father's former way of life and plans to be a Gladiator that's more succesful than him.

An old man used to frequent his parents' tavern.

It was obvious he was an adventurer, but the way he tells his tales (half bullshit half true) inspired Kaelas to at least be an adventurer if his Gladiator dreams didn't take off.

When his parents passed away from a monster attack, Kaelas decided to go to Ul'dah, if only because the only thing left to him was his father's sword and shield from his old gladitorial days, he should at least be a Gladiator to honor his memories.

This and that happened, and somehow he's now a member of the Scions, and the rest, as the historians would say, was history.

Side/Job Quests Status (Stormblood):

He's a full-fledged Gladiator, as well as a renowned Free-Paladin under no known master in the Sultanate, as befit of the title. Recently known for winning the Ul Cup.

He's an armorer who had made masterful works to his clients, but more often than not never actually use his craftsmanship for anything other than repairs of his own armors.

He has not attempted Heaven-On-High, but was thinking on doing so until everything with the Garleans happened.

He was, however, recently seen before the Garlean mess moving to and fro the Ruby Sea, as well as a certain docked playhouse/ship within Kugane.

With all the war business, he hasn't been to the Eurekan landmass as well, and will probably put hold of that expedition until the Garleans let up for a bit.

PERSONALITY:
First Impression:

Unseeming, average. Wears armour that is glamoured into something looking like worn adventurer gear. Acts like an average adventurer that would do requests without a second thought.

Is a battle knowledge veteran. Often times giving advice on how to proceed in combat, if asked for, of course. However, seems to be not really knowledgeable on anything other than fighting, only knowing the basics of how everything important to him works.

How he ACTUALLY acts:

Has a wanderlust, often would wander off by himself if left unchecked or he has no goals (read, quest objectives) at the moment. Fortunately easy to contact via linkpearls in emergencies, but would rather enjoy the adventure by himself at times. Though, more than likely he'd be found beating up local menaces instead.

Doesn't look for a fight, yet would accept any fight, as long as it's non-lethal and everyone can laugh it out after. He wanted to be a gladiator, and they're all about showy fights. As long as everyone's entertained with those kind of brawls he'd do it for free.

While most heroes would balk at fighting primals, his immunity to being tempered and the fact that primals can be considered really tough opponents. Kaelas will just accept any kind of primal killing requests, as he feels the most alive during those fights. But he understands how problematic this can get, at least. But not enough shit happened to make him think about this until recently, so he's a bit conflicted right now.

Outside of battles, his knowledge bank is kind of dry, but he is at least emotionally capable to befriend random adventurers with echoes to help him against foes he can't take down by himself.

DOESN'T LIKE THE PERKS OF BEING FAMOUS. He'd rather get asked for a random fights rather than IDed as the fabled Warrior of Light, he feels like what he did is what anybody with echo can do if they put their minds into it. It's a replaceable position that he feels at times he doesn't deserve, but what he should do anyways right now because he has friends that depend on him and he doesn't like letting them down.

Relationships:

When neutral, he would be willing to help you with combat and general errands, rather he'd just silently nod and dash away before returning with the requested items. He'll be slightly wary of having drinks with someone he hasn't known yet, but otherwise he'll just try to stay cordial with you.

When in a positive relationship, he'll be more willing to do more absurd errands without payment, as well as being a good listener to your problems. He'll also ~~die~~ protect you without question unless he knows you can fight, in which case he'd fight alongside you instead, regardless of how weak or strong you are.

In a negative relationship, he's the ignore and forget type unless he's reminded of the offending person's existence. In which case he'd begrudgingly either tolerate their existence, or if enough positive development had occurred, probably just forgive them of their slight with some conditions.

Armorer Training : Trained to basically repair armor and fashion new ones based on available material. Crafting actually takes time though, so Kaelas won't use the abilities here as much as he'd just use it for simple repairs.
